1500 schools in Telangana go digital

Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari on Wednesday launched Digital Classes in 1,500 schools across the Telangana State simultaneously from the Mana TV premises here on Wednesday. Minister for IT and Industries K. Tarakarama Rao was also present.

Speaking on the occasion, Srihari stated that the state government would provide quality education to the students through Digital Classes. He said that the TRS government was taking up numerous steps to strengthen education system in the state and added that the Digital Classes was part of that initiative. He said that the government aims at providing corporate schools type education free of cost through the new initiative.

Speaking on the occasion, KTR said that the state government wants to take the technology to the doorsteps of the people for the empowerment of the masses. He lauded the efforts of Mana TV, which aired programmes on Group-II exams. He said that the state government was making strides in the IT in the state and was giving impetus on the area for the betterment of the masses and good governance.

IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, Mana TV CEO Shailesh Reddy and other officials were present.

Meanwhile, Minister Jagadesh Reddy launched Digital Classes at the Government High School at Gajulamalkapuram in Suryapet. The minister also inaugurated additional classroom constructed on the school premises with a cost of Rs 41 lakh. Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav launched the Digital classes at the Government High School in Ameerpet. (INN)
