17 killed in Saudi mosque bombing

Karachi, Aug. 6 : At least 17 people have been killed in a terrorist bombing targeting a mosque in Saudi Arabia used by police officials in the southern city of Abha near the kingdom’s border with Yemen.

According to Dawn News, the worshippers were praying in the mosque as the explosion took place.

The explosion took place as worshippers were praying at a mosque used by Saudi special forces in Abha, the broadcaster said, describing it as a “terrorist” attack. It gave no further details.

The attack has also wounded a number of people.

Earlier in May, the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria claimed responsibility for a car blast outside a Shia mosque in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, which killed four people. (ANI)
