18 flyovers in City – Construction starts from June

Hyderabad: Govt. of Telangana is contemplating to construct 18 flyovers, skywalks etc in order to develop the city at international level. Under Strategic Road Development plan, GHMC has identified 18 places for the construction of flyovers for which 319 properties have been identified for demolition.

 

21 properties at Jubilee Hills Check post, 6 at Film Nagar crossroads, 8 at Road number 45 junction, 2 at Cancer hospital junction, 11 at Brahmananda Reddy Park entrance, 10 at Maharaja Agresen junction, 58 at Bahadurpura cross roads, 3 at Rasoolpura cross road, 4 at Kameneni Hospital to LB Nagar Road have been identified to be acquired.

 

City Planner of GHMC, Mr. S. Devender Reddy told that 60 Govt. properties and 260 private properties have been identified for acquisition. In the first phase of construction of flyover, GHMC would need two acre land of Survey of India at Uppal. GHMC will also acquire 9 acre land near Brahmananda Reddy Park. The process of acquisition of Govt. properties has already been started which would be completed in a month’s time. He further told that a special survey team has been constituted for the acquisition of private properties.

 

Authentic sources indicated that the officials of GHMC met Mr. KTR, Minister for Urban Development and apprised him of the development plan. They also told that tenders are being released for the construction of flyovers. A construction company of Mumbai is reported to have shown interest in getting these contracts.
