According to Prof. SA Shukoor, special officer, TS Hajj Committee the Ministry of External Affairs has allocated a quota of 200 seats for distributing to Mahrams category. He said that as per Islamic law, a woman cannot undertake the pilgrimage unless accompanied by a Mahram. However there are cases where a woman who wants to perform Hajj is left out while her Mahram gets a confirmation status. In such cases, the woman pilgrim may apply for inclusion under the cover of her Mahram.
