21-year-old Tanzanian girl student stripped by mob forcing her to walk “without her top”, four arrested

Bengaluru: A 21-year-old Tanzanian girl student lodged a complaint in the police station accusing a mob of stripping her and forcing her to walk “without her top” on the street in the city of Bengaluru on 31st January night.

She alleged that a car of a Sudanese Medical student hit a local 35-year-old resident, Sabeen Taj who died on the spot while her husband Sanuallah survived. After this incident mob assembled at the spot and set on fire the Sudanese student’s car and the car in which Tanzanian student was travelling. Earlier, the Tanzanian student had not accused of being stripped by the mob but on Wednesday, when the police summoned her after reports were published in media, she alleged that her top was removed by the mob.

Ms. Sushma Swaraj, External Affairs Minister immediately contacted the CM of Karnataka, S. Siddaramaiah to take stern action against the accused. She also said that the CM has informed her that a criminal case has been registered and four accused have been arrested.
