27 cops fined for not wearing helmets: A lesson for public

Hyderabad: Hyderabad City Police organized a special campaign against those who are not using helmets while driving motorbikes. Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mahender Reddy instructed the police officials to be exemplary for the people in the implementation of rules and regulation pertaining to wearing helmets.

Mr. Tajuddin Ahmed, ACP of Falaknuma division started the campaign and found 15 constables and 7 home guards not wearing helmets. They all belonged to Chandrangutta, Madannapet, Falknuma, Chatrinaka, Shah Alibanda police stations. They include three SI, one ASI, one Head constable, 15 constables and 7 home guards. They were fined Rs. 100 each under section 129/177 of MV Act. The defaulters’ entries are made in the GD registers of police stations. DCP of South Zone, Mr. V. Satyanarayana told that if cops found to be violating the laws, they could be suspended and home guards would be dismissed from service.
