290 minor fires in Delhi on Diwali

New Delhi: A total of 290 fire incidents were reported in Delhi on Diwali, an official said on Thursday.

The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) official told IANS: “A total of 290 fire-related incidents were reported on Diwali. All incidents were minor. No casualty was reported.”

Last year, officials attended to 293 calls.

The DFS deployed fire tenders at 20 vulnerable locations in the city, including congested areas and key market places, in addition to its 56 fire stations.
