3 arrested in Rs 88 lakh loot case

Mathura: Three persons were arrested in connection with the loot of Rs 88 lakh from a jeweller in Kotwali area here today.

Radha Rani Jewellers owner Pawan Agrawal asked his two employees – Mukesh and Balram – to deposit Rs 88 lakh in SBI yesterday. On the way, they hatched a plan by telling that the bag containing money was snatched by two motorcycle-borne youths by throwing chili powder in their eyes, SSP Mohit Gupta said.

However, the medical examination showed that not a single particle of chili powder had gone into their eyes, he said.

During interrogation, they confessed to have kept the money in a room of one Subhash, Gupta said.

The trio was arrested under various sections of IPC and sent to jail, he added.
