A woman was on Sunday allegedly axed to death by her husband in village Mujhapurwa in Singahi area in Lakhimpur Kheri, police said.
Meera (35) was axed to death this afternoon by her husband, they said.
The incident was stated to be fallout of illicit relationship of the husband with another woman.
Police is probing the matter and trying to trace the accused, who is absconding.
