39 Assam Rifles organises ‘motor cycle-cum-gypsy’ expedition in Aizawl

Aizawl: Keeping with the motto of ‘Friends of the Hill People’, 39 Assam Rifles personnel have once again expressed their solidarity with the people of Mizoram.

After leaving a remarkable mark on the people of Aizawl on International Day of Yoga, 39 Assam Rifles has yet again under the flagship of their Commandant Colonel A.N. Mukhopadhyay organised a ‘motor cycle-cum-gypsy’ expedition as part of the ongoing “Parva expedition” from Seling to Zokhawsang.

Terming it “Friends of the Hill People for Peace Expedition”, the 39 Assam Rifles, commonly the known as ‘Patkai Hills Battalion’, engaged local citizens of Aizawl and neighbouring places in hundreds to be part of the expedition, which was aimed at national integration through peace and harmony.

The Patkai Hills Battalion ensured mass participation by the civil populace, students, NGOs, Civil Administration and ex-servicemen in ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’, Go Green drive and Volleyball match at Zokhawsang.

More than 600 people participated in various events organised at Zokhawsang.

The evening witnessed a cultural extravaganza, followed by a dinner with all locals of Zokhawsang village. (ANI)
