4 killed as dumper rams into auto in Greater Noida

Greater Noida: Four persons were today killed and two injured when a speeding dumper rammed into an autorickshaw near NSG society in Kasna here, police said.

The incident took place around 6 AM when the dumper crashed into the auto, in which three of its passengers and the driver were killed on the spot, they said.

“Four persons have been killed and two others injured in the accident today. Bodies have been sent for post-mortem,” Kasna SHO Dhananjay Mishra said.

The deceased were identified as Naresh (driver) and passengers — Sazid, Raqib and Ashid, all residents of Rabupura town. They were going to the wholesale vegetable market in Noida Phase-2, he said.

Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav expressed grief over the mishap and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased and the cheques will be distributed to the bereaved families by the evening, District Magistrate N P Singh said.
