40-yr-old father lynched as the son ‘elopes’ with a 16-year-old girl in Muzaffarnagar, area tense

Muzaffarnagar: In a heinous incident, a 40-year-old man was allegedly killed by the family of a girl who is said to have been eloped with his son. This incident took place at Rasulpur village in Muzaffarnagar on Tuesday.

According to the news published in Indian Express, a 16-year-old girl allegedly eloped with a 24-year-old youth, Abdul alias Dulla. The families of girl and boy are neighbours.

The father of Abdul, Shakir was allegedly assaulted by the family members of the girl while he was accompanying them to search the duo. He died of injuries.

According to the report of the police, the members of the girl’s family fled away after leaving the dead body of Shakir at a hospital in Bareilly.

The Younger brother of Shakir, Sabir lodged an FIR against the members of the girl’s family on Tuesday at Meerapur police station. Even after filing FIR, no arrest has been made.

However, in order to maintain law and order, heavy police personnel have been deployed at the village.

Mr. Arvind Kumar, SHO of Meerapur police station said that on 5th July, girl’s father filed an FIR against Abdul and an unidentified girl under section 363 and 366 of IPC

According to him, Shakir was allegedly abducted in a car from Kamliyan locality on Monday when he was returning home. He is believed to have told the family members of the girl that the two were in Lucknow.

It is also reported that after assaulting Shakir, the accused called for an ambulance and took him to the hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Mr. Pravesh Singh, SHO of Katra police station said that police seized the vehicle of the accused which was parked near the police station. Later, after postmortem, the body of Shakir was handed over to his relatives.

Mr. Ajay Kumar Sahdev, Addl. SP, Muzaffarnagar (Rural) said that autopsy report is awaited.
