Mumbai: A 57-yr-old man was reportedly arrested by Chembur police for stealing Rs3.47 lakh from a firm he was working with.

Chandrashekhar Haridutt Sharma was an old employee at an apparel firm, which exports garments across various cities. He was working with the firm for the past 20 years.

The Police dropped by Sharma’s relatives to know about his whereabouts. One of the relatives told where he could have headed to. Based on the information Sharma was traced to Khadakpada in Kalyan.

“Sharma was preparing to flee to Akola or Nagpur by the Sevagram Express from Kalyan station when we arrested him” said Yashwantrao Shinde, Assistant Inspector, adding, “He said he had been fired once by the company and wanted to be paid more.”
