60 held in Cordon and Search Operation in Old City

Hyderabad: The South Zone Police conducted Cordon and Search Operation at Barkas in the limits of Chandrayangutta in the early hours of Wednesday, in order to curtail the menace of unsocial and unlawful acts in old city of Hyderabad.

All the officers of south Zone police, all together 350 police, have participated in conducting search operation in the by cordoning the area by dividing into 20 teams.

According to DCP South Zone V. Satyanrayana, the main objective behind this operation was to promote adherence to the law by discovering the persons who violate the rules and norms governing the society as well as civic safety, protect the good from the bad, to prop up demureness civics in old City of Hyderabad and to protect the public from harm, abuse, murder and infringement/breach of personal rights, peace and order in the society.

Search operation has been conducted at Barkas by cordoning 10 entry / exit points in the limits of Chandrayangutta by house to house. As many as 60 suspicious persons were taken into custody. They include 25 Rowdy Sheeters of Chandrayangutta PS limits. Two cases were registered under 109 Cr PC against Faizal Salam Bahattab @ Faizal Bahattab and Amer Jameel Barzak @ Amar Bin Sayeed Barzak.

During the search operations, 300 liquor sachets were seized from one person Yousuf Khan (27) of Ghulam Murtuza Chawni in Falaknuma. He was transporting the sachets from Dhoolpet to Ghouse Nagar area. A case under Section 7(a) r/w 8 (e) AP Prohibition and Excise Act has been registered.

Police also took into custody a person by name Shaik Abdul Shabad (56) for running Satta gambling.

A total of 11 domestic LPG Gas cylinders were also seized for illegal refilling from the possession of one Habbeb Jafer in Chandryangutta. A case under 9 (b) (1) (c) of Explosive Act 1884 and 6(a) of Essential Commodities Act and Sec 285, 286, 336 IPC has been booked.

Police also seized 95 two wheelers, 1 JCB, 5 three wheelers and 4 cars and verifying the documents of the aforesaid vehicles. (INN)
