700 candidates get job at PFWS mega job fair

New Delhi: Around 700 candidates, including two retired Delhi Police personnel, today got jobs with various national and multinational companies in a mega job fair organised by the Police Families Welfare Society (PFWS) at the New Police Lines in Kingsway Camp.

About 60 companies from various sectors like automobile, IT, software, insurance and retails among others participated in job fair inaugurated by Commissioner of Police Alok Verma.

Around 9000 candidates belonging to families of serving and retired police personnel registered for job interviews while around 700 managed to got jobs, an official said.

Two retired cops, former ACP and ASI, also got jobs at the fair.

It was the first ever platform provided by Delhi Police to the wards of police personnel, retired police personnel and general public to apply for various vacancies at a single point, said Nupur Prasad, Additional DCP (South).

The Commissioner of Police lauded PFWS for organising the job fair expecting it to help deserving members of police families.

During the event 41 Divyang children were facilitated and presented Rs 50,000 each for their better future. Also, 17 families of policemen who died during discharge of their duties were felicitated and presented with Rs one lakh each, said the organisers.
