City police arrested Amit accused in twin murder

Cyberabad police arrested Amit Singh (22) the spurned lover who who brutally murdered two sisters Yamini Saraswathi (23) and Srilekha (21), in LB Nagar on July 14.

The Cyberabad Police, who arrested the accused on Tuesday morning, 14 days after committing the dreadful crime, said that the accused managed to stay free by constantly changing mobile phones and sim cards and travelling to the states of Maharashtra, Chattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Delhi.

Home minister Nayini Narasimha Reddy and Cyberabad police commissioner CV Anand visited the parents of the victims at their residence at Mohannagar in LB Nagar on Tuesday.

According to Police, Amit Singh escaped to Kazipet after committing the crime from where he proceeded to Itarsi by train. From Itarsi he keep on moving to different states, finally Police caught him on July 28 morning while he was returning to Hyderabad.

During interrogation, it was revealed that Amit Singh was stalking deceased Srilekha ever since the family moved from Shadnagar to LB Nagar in 2014.

The accused also took a room in the same area and was disturbing Srilekha. The mother of the deceased had warned the father of the accused saying not to harass Srilekha on the pretext of love.

But father of the accused, failed to control his son and the accused did not change his attitude. About two months prior to the murder, Srilekha strictly warned the accused and stopped entertaining him. This provoked the accused who decided to kill Srilekha, added Police.
