81K Saplings planted on Campus, OU Colleges

As part of “Telanganaku Haritha Haaram program”, the Osmania University has launched massive plantation program for  improving the tree cover on the campus by planting 81,000 saplings on the campus as well as the constituent and affiliated colleges.

Prof. E. Suresh Kumar, Registrar, Osmania University, today inaugurated the program by planting saplings at the College of Engineering, CELT, Law College, University Library, Health center of Osmania University and University College for Women, Koti. He exhorted the students and faculty members to take ‘Green Oath’ to plant and nurture the saplings and vowed to ensure green cover expansion in the Osmania University.

Dr Vishnu Dev, NSS coordinator, organized the event on the campus, constituent and affiliated colleges by deploying 20,000 NSS volunteers for the smooth conduct of the program.

Dean, students welfare, Prof. P. Laxmi Narayana, Principals, Faculty members, students and NSS volunteers participated in the plantation program enthusiastically. (NSS)
