Jerusalem: Dozens of Israeli soldiers storm courtyard of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem in morning with concussion grenades thrown at Muslim worshippers, injuring several Palestinians.
According to a report published in Al- Jazeera, they used tear gas as they entered the compound of Al-Aqsa Mosque to arrest what they called Palestinian “stone throwers”.
As per latest social media reports, the raid is still ongoing. Sonic and gas bombs can be heard, according to eyewitnesses.
“Occuption forces firing bombs inside Masjed AlAqsa attacking worshipers and kicked out the AlAqsa guards,” tweeted Abbas Sarsour.
Another tweet says, “Huge smoke coming out from Masjed AlAqsa NOW with blood on the floor and a lot of tear gas bombs fired at worshipers.”
The Al-Aqsa Mosque is Islam’s third holiest site after Masjid al-Haram in Makkan and Masjid al-Nabawi in Medina, Saudi Arabia.
