Nine senior bureaucrats, including the CEO of the Delhi Jal Board, have been transferred by Arvind Kejriwal, who took charge of the Delhi government on Saturday. According to reports, Delhi Jal Board CEO Debashree Mukherjee has now been posted as the Chief Managing Director of Delhi Transport Corporation. Senior IAS officer Vijay Kumar has been made the new CEO of Delhi Jal Board.
Power Secretary RK Verma, who is also the CMD of Delhi Transco Ltd and Chairman of Pragati Power Corporation Ltd, has been shifted as the Principal Secretary of Higher Education. He will also hold charge as the Principal Secretary, Training and Technical Education.
Transport Secretary Puneet Goel has been transferred as the Power Secretary. The Principal Secretary-cum-Commissioner in the Development Department, Arvind Ray, will hold additional charge in the transport department. Delhi Finance Secretary MM Kutty, who was also Principal Secretary to former Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, has been transferred as Principal Secretary in the Social Welfare and Women and Child Development department.
Kejriwal, who assumed office yesterday, said, the government will decide on his party”s promise to supply of 700 litres of free water to each household and cutting down electricity charges by early next week. Kejriwal said he has asked officials to work out details in this regard. He said, he will take decision on water by tomorrow and on power, he will be able to say something by Tuesday or Wednesday. Kejriwal also said that the Cabinet has decided that no minister and official of Delhi government will use red beacon. He said it was also decided that no PSO and escort vehicle will be provided to officials and security will be given only on threat perception. (ANI)
