AAP stands for ‘Accusing, Abusing Party’: BJP

New Delhi : With President Pranab Mukherjee rejecting the Bill to exclude the post of Parliamentary Secretary from the office of profit, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday branded the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as ‘Accusing and Abusing Party’ and asked Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal not to demean the credibility of the President of India.
While addressing a press conference BJP party spokesperson Sambit Patra said the office of the President and that of the Election Commission of this country are independent institutes of great credibility, asserting that because Kejriwal has a certain ‘political ambition’, he cannot demine either.

“We have seen the drama of the AAP unfolding in front of us since yesterday. We have seen the frustration of the Chief Minister of Delhi Mr. Arvind Kejriwal. I would like to remind the office of Delhi Chief Minister, that sir, office of the President of this country, office of the Election Commission of this country are independent institutes and they are institutes of great credibility,” said Patra.

“Because you have certain political ambition which did not get fulfilled, for god’s sake don’t demean the credibility of the President of India because at the end of the day, it demeans the credibility of the democracy of the country. Don’t demean the Election Commission of this country because after all, the issue of disqualification of 21 MLAs lies in front of the President and the Election Commission of this country and not with BJP. We don’t have to do anything with this,” he added.

Further lashing out at Kejriwal for dragging the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in to the matter, Patra said the AAP Delhi chief is obsessed with Modi.

“Mr. Kejriwal is saying that BJP is scared of AAP, i would like to say that BJP is not scared of AAP. The AAP and Kejriwal are obsessed with Modi and that is the issue,” Patra said.

“Mr. Kejriwal’s morning, begins with Modi, Modi, Modi his afternoon is Modi, Modi, Modi and his evenings are Modi, Modi, Modi. AAP has become an abusing and accusing party. AAP stands for Accusing and Abusing Party,” he added.

With President Pranab Mukherjee rejecting the Bill to exclude the post of Parliamentary Secretary from the office of profit, Kejriwal earlier today alleged that Prime Minister Modi is ‘scared’ of the AAP while blaming him for posing an obstacle in the Delhi Government’s functioning.

Kejriwal told ANI that Prime Minister Modi is not yet able to digest the AAP’s splendid win in the Delhi Assembly polls.

The Delhi Government Bill to exclude the post of Parliamentary Secretary from the office of profit has been refused assent by the President, raising questions over the fate of 21 AAP MLAs, who have been appointed to the posts.

The refusal puts a question mark on the membership of 21 AAP MLAs, who have been appointed Parliamentary Secretaries.

The AAP Government had sought an amendment to the Delhi Members of Legislative Assembly (Removal of Disqualification) Act, 1997 through which it had sought “retrospective” exemption for the parliamentary secretaries from disqualification provisions.

Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung forwarded the Bill to the Centre, which in turn was sent to the President with comments.(ANI)
