Abdul Qadeer released on Parole – Mr. Zahid Ali Khan recommends for permanent release

Hyderabad: Former Police Constable, Mr. Mohammed Abdul Qadeer was released on one month’s parole yesterday. When he reached his house, his family members felt delight. Dy. CM of Telangana State, Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali had made an effective representation to CM of Telangana, Mr. KCR for his release. On this recommendation, Home Ministry issued orders for his release. This is the first time that Mr. Abdul Qadeer did not celebrate Eid-ul-Fitar with his family members for which they were disappointed.

 

It may be noted that Mr. Abdul Qadeer was given life sentence by the court for killing Mr. Sattaiah, the then ACP during 1992 communal riots. He has been in prison for more than 20 years. Justice Markanday Katju, former Chairman of Press Council of India had written to Mr. KCR recommending the case of release of Mr. Abdul Qadeer on humanitarian grounds since he had already completed life sentence. Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily had also appealed to CM of Telangana State for his release. It may be mentioned that Doctors have amputated one of his legs due to diabetes. Mr. K.V. Reddy, Superintendent of Cherlapally Jail told that Mr. Abdul Qadeer has been released on one month parole.
