Afghan Chief Executive meets Sushma Swaraj

New Delhi: Chief Executive of Afghanistan Abdullah Abdullah today met External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and discussed ways to further deepen bilateral engagement between the two countries.

A range of issues, including implementation of India’s development projects and boosting trade between the two countries, are understood to have figured in the talks.

Abdullah has also apprised Swaraj of the status of the Afghan peace process.

India has spent around USD 2 billion on development projects in the war-ravaged country since 2001.

The Afghan leader is here on a private visit.
