Kolkata:A Tokyo-Delhi Air India flight made an emergency landing at the N S C B International airport here today after a woman complained of labour pain mid-air.
An airport official said full-fledged medical emergency procedures were in place with doctors and security personnel as the AI flight 307 touched down at the airport around 4:40 pm and the woman and her husband were whisked to the nearby super-speciality private hospital.
The plane finally left for Delhi at around 6:10 pm.
The woman, a foreigner whose identity was kept under wraps, was doing fine.
