Air Force Academy to get first women fighter pilots on May 18

3 women fighter pilots who are getting training at Air Force Academy near Hyderabad will become first women fighter pilots on June 18. Three IAF cadets, Bhawna Kant, Avni Chaturvedi and Mohana Singh, are being trained at the Air Force Academy near Hyderabad for the job.

These women will fly Indian fighter planes. Presently they are in the second phase of their training. On the completion of the training the passing out parade is scheduled on June 18. Asserting that all three trainees would get commissioned on that day and become the first women officers in the fighter stream, Indian Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha said that subsequently they would go on to advanced jet training, and later proceed to regular squads.
