Akbar Owaisi booked for hate speech

Majlis leader Akbaruddin Owaisi has been booked under section 295 A and 298 of the Indian Penal Code for his alleged offensive remarks against Hindus gods. He is also said to have been said that Muslims would need just 15 minutes without the police to show 100 crore Hindus who is more powerful. KK Sagar of BJP filed the complaint against the Majlis MLA who is also the younger brother of Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, in a local court in Hyderabad, citing the speech made by the leader at a public meeting at Adilabad on December 24.

The hearing of the case will be held on December 31. His comments which have created a huge buzz on social media have been tweeted by television commentator and interviewer Karan Thapar and re-tweeted by journalist and columnist Swapan Dasgupta.

A local channel 4TV, owned by an MIM leader, on which the speeches were also telecast, has also been made a party in the case.
