Akbaruddin Owaisi Attack Case: “I did not register the murder report” – Chandrayangutta Inspector of Police

Hyderabad: P. Venkatagiri, former Inspector of Police, Chandrayangutta was interrogated in Akbaruddin Owaisi Attack Case yesterday. He informed that he did not enter any case pertaining to the death of Ibrahim bin Younus Yafai on 30th April 2011. When Mr. Guru Murthy, Advocate presented the application of Saif bin Husain Yafai on which the seal of Chandrayangutta police was available. The witness confirmed it and said that he had entered the case only in general diary and he did not enter FIR. On the petition submitted by Saif bin Husain Yafai, he had instructed the then Sub-Inspector of Police, Mr. Mohammed Niyazuddin to confirm the petitioner. Since the petitioner could not be traced out, no case was registered. Mr. Venkatagiri told that the postmortem of Ibrahim bin Younus Yafai was conducted under his supervision and he saw the bullets marks on his body. After seeing this, he instructed not to register FIR.

Dr. Hari Krishna of Osmania Hospital conducted post mortem at the instance of Tehsildar. The inspector also said that he is afraid of revealing the truth due to the fear of higher officials.
