Akbaruddin Owaisi raises issue of pollution in Telangana assembly

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India]: All India Majlis-e Ittihad al-Muslimin (AIMIM) MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi on Tuesday raised the issue of pollution in the Telangana Assembly and asked Municipal Minister Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao to call a meeting to discuss the same.

“Due to the high rise in pollution, the people of Hyderabad are suffering very badly. I also request the municipal ministers to call a meeting to discuss about pollution,” Owassi said.

Telangana’s Industries Minister, Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao said that the state government plans to shift polluting factories outside the limits of the Outer Ring Road by next year-end. He also assured that all industrial units will be provided modern infrastructure facilities.

“Forty nine percent of pollution in city is due to vehicles and Hyderabad stands at 24th position in Asia in the pollution scale. But it’s a not a thing to be proud about , so we have identified 1545 industries and will send a notice to them shift out of the Outer Ring Road by providing and helping them with proper infrastructure,” Rao said.
