All set for Ganesh idols immersion; Harish inaugurates program at NTR Marg

Hyderabad: Major Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao here on Saturday inaugurated the program of immersion of Ganapati idols at the NTR Marg on the banks of Hussain Sagar after performing pujas.
Speaking on the occasion, Harish Rao said he prayed Lord Vigneshwara to ensure that all the tanks and lakes in the State are filled to the brim without any obstacles. He also expressed happiness over the tanks becoming full one week ahead of the Idols Immersion ceremony. He also said the authorities concerned have installed 23 cranes on the Tank Bund and 10 huge cranes at NTR Marg for the purpose. Besides, 21 mobile cranes were kept ready for use in emergency situation. He also said 48 CC cameras were installed at vulnerable places around the lake for immersion of idols. Stating that arrangements have been made for immersion of idols in another 21 tanks in the Greater Hyderabad city, he disclosed that the government has released Rs 4.70 crore to meet the expenditure on the ceremony.
The Minister also inaugurated an office of Major Irrigation department on the NTR Marg on the occasion. (NSS)
