Tiruchirappalli: Highlighting the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA at the Centre, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah on Wednesday accused the Jayalalithaa-led AIADMK Government of being the ‘most corrupt’ in the country.
Addressing a press conference in Tiruchirappalli flanked by three Union ministers, including Power Minister Piyush Goyal, Shah alleged that the state government was not cooperating over implementation of central schemes including UDAY, which aimed at helping debt-ridden state power discoms.
“The Narendra Modi Government is committed to the welfare of villages, the poor and labour class. I am confident the people of Tamil Nadu will give priority to NDA in the polls,” said Shah.
“The people should change this most corrupt government in India and give NDA a chance,” he added while asserting that the NDA would deliver on its development agenda in Tamil Nadu if voted to power.
Projecting the NDA as an alternative to AIADMK and DMK, Shah also trained his guns on the Congress and charged the three parties with corruption.
The BJP president also alleged that sand and liquor mafia had exploited people under the Dravidian parties’ rule in the state. (ANI)
