Amitabh Bachchan pays tribute to Lalita Pawar

Mumbai: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has paid tribute to character actor Lalita Pawar on her 100th birth anniversary. The 73-year-old “Wazir” actor said his “Do Aur Do Paanch” co-star was a dynamic and versatile performer.

“100 th birth Anniversary of late Lalita Pawar ji. Dynamic, versatile with stand out performances!, ” Bachchan tweeted. Bachchan and Pawar worked together in “Bombay to Goa,” “Nastik,” “Manzil,” “Do Anjaane,” and “Anand”.

Born in Nasik, Pawar started her acting career at age nine with 1928 film “Raja Harishchandra”.

Known particularly for playing scheming mother-in-law in the movies, she was honoured with Sangeet Natak Akademi award in 1961.
