Amity students shine at International Environment and Sustainability Project Olympiad

Noida (Uttar Pradesh) : Four students of Amity International School, participated in the 8th Edition of International Environment and Sustainability Project Olympiad (INESPO) in Netherlands from May 29 to June 3, 2016 and won gold and bronze medals for their innovative projects, besides the prestigious “Global Science Award” competing with 150 Best Projects from 49 countries around the world.

Kavya Aggarwal and Sarthak Sharma won gold for their project on ‘Novel and Cost Effective Method to Treat Waste Water of Textile Industries’ (Magnetic Nanocomposite in Action to Remove Dyes), while Vasavi Sridhar and Aakriti Dhasmana won the Bronze Medal for their project ‘Storable Fuel from Agricultural Waste & Fuel Maker for Rural India.’

Both projects were screened systematically at Initiative for Research and Innovation in Science Fair (IRIS) and Indian Science and Engineering Fair (INSEF) and also by the MILSET India team.

Dr. Amita Chauhan- Chairperson, Amity International Schools said science is the foundation of a strong country and the scientific prowess of Indian children is unparalleled which, given a platform, shines bright in the global arena.

INESPO is an International Olympiad to focus attention towards environmental problems and bring communal consensus to eliminate them through education. (ANI)
