Andhra Pradesh is not ‘special’ Centre tells YSRC

In reply to a letter written by YSR Congress president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to the Prime Minister on the issue.Ashish Datta the Deputy secretary of department of industrial policy and development stated that the package was included in the Centre’s provisions for AP and the state does not fulfil any criteria for getting special status.

The Centre clearly stated that Andhra Pradesh cannot be accorded special category status by any criteria specified by the Planning Commission. It added that at present no special package of industrial incentives can be considered for Andhra Pradesh.
