Angry farmers burn chilli at Mahboob Mansion Market

Hyderabad: Protesting against the failure of the government to ensure minimum support price for them, some farmers set chilli stocks on fire. The incident sparked mild tension at the Mahboob Mansion Market in Malakpet. Police sprung into action and brought the situation under control. Later talking to officers of agriculture market the protesting farmers demanded to ensure minimum support price for them.

It must be noted that the market has been flooded with chillies and onions over the past week. There are only a few buyers which had resulted in prices crashing. Traders are exploiting the situation offering Rs 2 per kg for chilli and onions.
