Another 5.4 magnitude tremor hit central Nepal

Kathmandu :A moderate earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter Scale today shook central Nepal including the Kathmandu Valley, forcing people to rush out of their homes in panic.

The epicenter of the quake was located at Sindhupalchowk district, 100 km east of Kathmandu, according to the National Seismological centre.

However, no damage was reported due to the tremor.

The after shock was felt ten months after the great earthquake of April 25, last year, in which over 9,000 people had died.

At least 434 aftershocks with four or more magnitude have been recorded so far since the last year’s devastating earthquake.
Last week, a 4.1 magnitude aftershock was recorded with its epicentre at Nuwakot district.

Some two weeks ago, central Nepal was hit by a strong earthquake that created panic among the people of Kathmandu.
