Another job racket uncovered in city, 5000 youths cheated

An incident of a fake job consultancy firm vanishing in thin air after duping thousands of students in the name of a job mela organized at Little Flower Junior College, Uppal, rocked the city on Sunday. With none conducting the job mela and interviews, the 5,000-odd job aspirants went berserk attacked the college and damaged its furniture.

The company Adwiteeya Shreya Foundation website www.getmyjob.com.in gave an advertisement ‘Off Campus Job Mela’ scheduled for Sunday from 8.30 am to 6pm at LFJ, Uppal and over 5,000 students enrolled themselves for the program by paying Rs 200 towards registration fee. Thousands of unemployed came for the interview and waited for a few hours. With nobody turning up from the company or any recruiters, they became restive and ransacked the college.

However, the LFJ College management claimed that they have nothing to do with any job consultancy and has no idea about their whereabouts. When tried to call repeatedly, the mobile number of the company 9032427067 remained switched off and there was no clear address on the website except Hyderabad, Telangana. The college management called the police, who booked a case and took up investigation.

The police pacified the irate jobless youth and advised them not to believe such advertisements and get cheated. They also assured that those responsible for the scam will be caught and dealt with severely. (NSS)
