Anushka Sharma owes it all to Adi Chopra

New Delhi: Anushka Sharma, who had 8 eventful years in the Tinsel Town, owes it all to her first director Aditya Chopra, who helped her to take the first step in Bollywood in 2008 with none other than her ‘ Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ co-star Shah Rukh Khan.

In an interview, reported by Deccan Chronicles, the 28-year-old actress said, “I have got good films and I am thankful to Aditya Chopra; he put a lot of faith in me. Whenever I work on any Yash Raj film, I feel that they believed in me and that’s why I have been able to be in films today. I had no connection with movies apart from watching them. My journey has been good and by God’s grace, I have not changed.”

With this, Anushka even stressed on the fact that she is a “self made woman” from a “normal background” and “wants to make the most” of the present “interesting” time as women are spreading their wings in every possible field of work.

“I am a self-made woman who came from a normal background and I treat my acting career with a lot of respect. Women are doing quite well in various fields, be it in costume, direction, editing, production; they are working everywhere now. In fact, writers are also penning stories with female leads and the films are doing well at the box office. It is an interesting time and as an actress, I want to make the most of it,” she said.

On the work front, Anushka has geared up for the release of ‘ Sultan,’ opposite Salman Khan this week. She will also be seen in Karan Johar’s ‘Ae DIl Hain Mushkil’ this year. Other than these, the actress is all set with her second movie as producer, ‘ Phillauri,’ wherein she will also be acting.
