AP CM flags off ‘Amaravathi 5k run’


Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today flagged off the ‘Amaravathi 5k run’ at Tadepalli village here.

The run was organised by Andhra Pradesh Journalists Forum to create awareness about construction of new capital Amaravathi.

Naidu appealed to people across the state to participate in the construction of capital which would be transformed into a ‘Prajarajadhani’ (people’s capital).

He said that the new capital would be pride of Andhra Pradesh and its people.

Naidu also appealed from other towns and cities to organise such runs in their areas.

A number of youth, journalists participated in the run which went upto Mangalagiri in Guntur district.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of the new capital on October 22.
