AP launches “Vidyuth Pravah” mobile App.

In a major achievement on power sector-cum-mobile technology front, “AP Vidyuth Pravah,” a mobile phone app developed and implemented by AP Eastern Power Distribution Company (APEPDCL) for the benefit of power consumers in Andhra Pradesh, has won the appreciation of all the participants in the ongoing Conference of Ministers of States & Union Territories on “Power, Renewable Energy & Mines,” which is underway in Goa from 16th –17th June 2016.

 

Launching the “Vidyuth Pravah” mobile App, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge), Govt. of India for Coal, Power & Renewable Energy  Piyush Goyal, during the conference, stated that this App allows the consumers and stakeholders of APEPDCL to know the power availability and power supply position at DISCOMs /District /Town /Mandal Headquarter / Village level on the AP Geographical map, from anywhere in the world. Sri Goyal congratulated the Energy Dept. Officials of AP particularly Sri. Ajay Jain, Principal Secretary, Energy I&I and the CMD of APEPDCL  Mutyala Raju.

 

The Minister for Labour & Employment, Factories, Youth & Sports, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship,   Atchannaidu Kinjarapu, who has participated in the Conference on behalf of  Chief Minister of Govt of AP  N.Chandra Babu Naidu,  has disclosed that A.P has successfully achieved 100% household electrification  in the state by June 2016, three years prior to the target of Union Govt. and this was possible with the continuous monitoring & Support from  C.M.  Having ensured adequate quantum of power for all category of consumers in the State, the next prime objective of the  Chief Minister is to ensure quality power supply on par with global standards. To achieve this gigantic task, the govt of AP has contemplated to invest around One Lakh Crore Rupees during the next five years.

While briefing the participants from all the States through power point presentation on the Vidyuth Pravah  App, Sri. Ajay Jain said that our  C.M always says that the ultimate mantra of the Govt., for best consumer satisfaction is to “adopt best information & communication technology practices for the benefit of the consumers and general public”. Due to the substantial progress in the power sector in providing 24×7 power supply in the state, several national & international giants have shown keen interest in making investments in A.P. During the CII summit held at Vizag,  MoUs worth Rs 4.76 Lakh Crores (328 MoUs) were entered, and an outlay of about Rs.1.38 Lakh Crores was proposed in Energy sector itself, said Ajay Jain.

While clarifying the queries raised by some officers from other States, the Chairman & Managing Director, Mutyala Raju explained that, this is an user friendly mobile interface app based on the geographical map of Andhra Pradesh. The information disseminated through the application will empower the consumers there by facilitating all the stakeholders to be more responsive.

Responding after a spell bound presentation on the App by the AP officials, Jyothy Arora, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Power has suggested all other State Power Utilities to develop a replica of the successful APEPDCL APP, for the benefit of the end-consumers which provides real time power supply position and comparison with the previous day data.
