APCC chief accuses AP Govt of wasting Rs. 1600 on Pushkaralu

Andhra Pradesh Pradesh Congress Committee president Dr. N. Raghuveera Reddy on Monday accused Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of wasting Rs. 1600 crore in the name of Godavari Pushkaralu.

Speaking to media persons at Indira Bhavan here, Raghuveera Reddy said that the entire money was spent on publicity and the pilgrims were not provided any basis facilities. He also criticised the Chief Minister for ignoring the 29 pilgrims, who were killed on the inaugural day of Pushkarulu. He said while Naidu had spent almost three hours on the concluding day ceremony, he did not find time to meet the families of those killed in the tragedy.

Stating that the State Government was yet to appoint the IAS Officer’s Committee to probe into the incident, the APCC chief reiterated the demand for an enquiry into the incident through a sitting judge of Supreme Court or High Court. He also announced that the APCC would file a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in this regards in the High Court. (INN)
