APJ Abdul Kalam’s Belongings taken to Delhi for Exhibit

Rameswaram: Some articles that former president Dr Abdul Kalam used to possess, including 1,000 books, were on Wednesday collected from his house here by the Delhi tourism minister, his grandson Salim said.

The belongings will be placed for public viewing in the national capital from July 21. Delhi tourism minister Kapil Mishra visited Paikarumbu, where Kalam is buried.

He later collected articles like slippers, pens, dresses, books from Kalam’s house and took them in 23 parcels to Delhi, Salim said.

Earlier, Mishra told reporters that Kalam’s family had already demanded that the government place the articles used by the former President for public view.
