California: Apple, an American multinational technology company headquartered in Cupertino, California has previewed its new emojis which is coming later this year. These new emojis include a woman wearing Hijab.
On Monday, more than 12 animated symbols were shared to celebrate World Emoji Day.
According to the statement released by Apple company, the new Emoji enable users to express their feelings more easily.
It is to be noted that in November last year, after a teen from Saudi Arabia campaigned for the inclusion of a woman wearing Hijab as emoji, it was approved by Unicode, a non-profit international consortium.
According to Aljazeera, in September 2016, 15-year-old Rayouf Alhumedhi submitted a proposal to Unicode.
However, Apple’s preview triggered few negative reactions online.

Apart from Hijab emoji, Apple’s preview includes, woman breastfeeding, a man meditating, dinosaur, zebra, zombie, sandwich and coconut emoji.
Emoji is widely used by the people across the world. People of the countries, the US, Mexico, Brazil, Indonesia, Thailand, UK, Spain, France, Italy and Germany use the emojis a lot.
