Hyderabad: 17 Hajj volunteers will leave from Telangana for Hajj 2017. Hajj Committee of India has invited applications from the eligible candidates. This year some conditions have been relaxed for appointment of Hajj volunteers. Central Hajj Committee issued notification in this connection on Tuesday. Earlier applicants were required to perform Hajj earlier, but this time those who have performed Umrah are also declared eligible. The age has been relaxed from earlier 50 years to 58 years.
Prof. S A Shukoor, Special Officer Telangana State Hajj Committee told that the last date to submit applications is June 7. Only government employees are eligible for the appointment as Hajj volunteers (Khadimul Hujjaj) to guide Hajj pilgrims in Saudi Arabia. Candidates with knowledge of Arabic will be preferred.
