Archana Kochhar brings disability issue on fashion ramp

Bengaluru: Ace designer Archana Kochhar, who promoted global disability inclusion issue at the recently concluded 15th edition of Bangalore Fashion Week, feels fashion events are a perfect platform to promote the social cause and create awareness about it.

Kochhar showcased her new digital collection Garden of Eve at the grand finale of the fashion week here on Sunday. She promoted the cause of global disability inclusion with model Esther opening the show on a wheelchair.

“I strongly believe in the cause of disability inclusion and feel platforms like a fashion weeks are perfect to promote this cause and create awareness about it,” Kochhar said in a statement.

Esther says she is thankful to the designer for the “opportunity”.

“I think it is a perfect platform to show that having a disability doesn’t need to hold you back. I have been a part of Cheshire Home India who support disable people and help them live a normal life, right from my childhood,” Esther said.

There was a touch of Bollywood to the fashion show as well. Actress Daisy Shah walked the ramp as showstopper in a digitally printed floor-length cape.

Talking about her outfit, Kochhar said: “Daisy’s outfits have been intricately digitalised with the concept of Garden of Eve. Angelic imagery portraits with gold frames and floral prints stand out, amidst the black and white stripes in this beautiful outfit.”

The 15th edition of the fashion gala was held from August 4-7.
