Armed man holed up in French hotel

Paris: An armed man was reportedly holed up in a hotel in southern France on Tuesday, prompting police to evacuate the building, the media reported.

Police set up a perimeter of around 850 feet around the Formule 1 Hotel in the commune of Bollene in the province of Alpes, Sputnik news agency reported.

There was no immediate information about the reason for the standoff. No hostage crisis was reported.

The hotel was cordoned off and the Marseille bomb squad was on its way, said the police.
