Army Chief reviews security situation in Kashmir

Srinagar : Chief of Army Staff General Dalbir Singh visited the Srinagar based Chinar Corps today to review the overall security situation and preparedness in dealing with the emerging challenges.

General Singh, who was accompanied by Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General D.S. Hooda and Chinar Corps Commander Lieutenant General Satish Dua, was also briefed about the incidents in Handwara, which witnessed violent protests in the past few days.

The Army Chief further visited Kupwara, where he was briefed about the situation along the Line of Control and hinterland.

General Singh during his interaction with the officers and troops expressed satisfaction at the operational preparedness of the units deployed along the LC and hinterland. He impressed upon all to ensure security in the area in concert with the police and civil administration. (ANI)
