Aruna objects to Assembly sittings on holidays

Hyderabad: Congress senior MLA D.K. Aruna has strongly objected to conduct of Assembly session during holidays.

Speaking to media persons on Friday, Aruna said that the TRS Government first delayed the conduct of budget session of Telangana Legislative Assembly and now it wants to wind it up at the earliest by conducting the sittings on holidays. She said there used to be no sittings on Saturdays and Sundays. However, by deciding to conduct the session on holidays, the TRS Government was setting a bad precedent.

Aruna said that the ruling party was trying to intimidate the opposition members by warning them of suspension if they protest in the House. She said that the Assembly session is not meant to speak trash or sing songs. It is meant to raise public issues and hold serious discussions on them. (INN)
