Asaduddin Owaisi asks MIM corporators to serve people

MIM-Asad

Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has directed his party’s newly elected GHMC corporators to focus only on serving people, especially those belonging to their respective wards.

Addressing a meeting of newly elected MIM corporators at Darulsalaam here on Saturday, Asaduddin Owaisi said stern action would be taken against the corporators who indulge in any kind of irregularities. He said no MIM corporator should indulge or support illegal activities like land grabbing or harassment of people using municipal authorities. He said such corporators may even be forced to resign if found guilty of such activities.

Asking all the MIM leaders to concentrate on next General Elections to be held in 2019, the MIM President admitted that some party leaders had committed a few mistakes in the past which consequently reduced party’s vote share and polling percentage in those areas. However, he said such mistakes should be repeated and service to the people should be the sole motto of all MIM corporators. He said despite strenuous efforts by the opponents, people have voted in favour of MIM thus re-assigning it a major responsibility.

Stating that the MIM was on expansion mode and people from various States want the party to contest elections, Asaduddin Owaisi said that the organisation would be strengthened at all levels across the country, especially in the Telangana and Hyderabad.

Former Mayor Mohammed Majid Hussain, who now got elected from Mehdipatnam ward, explained various schemes being implemented by the State Government and the procedures to be followed to get GHMC funds for the development of wards. Ex-Deputy Mayor and Nampally MLA Jaffer Hussain Meraj explained the basic functioning of GHMC. Corporators including S. Rajmohan, MA Ghaffar and T. Mohan Raj also addressed the meeting. MIM MLAs and other senior leaders were also present in the meeting. (INN)
