Austria to recommence train services to Hungary

The Austrian Federal Railways (OeBB) on Thursday confirmed train routes to Hungary will recommence on Friday, after having been shut down since September 10 due to overcrowding by asylum seekers.

Logistical and other technical preparations are currently being worked out, so that express, normal and regional trains run across the border again, Xinhua reported, citing an OeBB statement.

The OeBB had originally cited safety concerns as the reason behind the decision to freeze the services.
