Austrian team meets AP CM

A three-member Austrian delegation led by Mr. Georg Zehetner, Minister Plenipotentiary and Deputy Head of Mission, Austrian Embassy met the Chief Minister in his camp office today. The delegation evinced interest in sharing Austrian technology in Water resources, Agriculture and Tourism sectors.

They were the first to sign a MoU with the government of Andhra Pradesh in 2003. After Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu came back to power in 2014 June, the delegation came back to revive its partnership.

The delegation discussed possibilities of cooperation in areas of pest control and soil testing technologies. The Chief Minister instructed the officials to explore ways of cooperation with APET (Austrian Power and Environment Technology) in adapting pest control management.

The Chief Minister appealed to the delegation to collaborate with the state government in new innovations to benefit the agricultural sector. The delegation expressed willingness to cooperate with the state government in smart cities technologies as well and they added that their cooperation comes with good financing of the projects.

Mr. Siegfried Weidlich, Commercial officer, Austrian Embassy, Commercial Section and Dr. Sepp Dabringer, Senior Advisor India, Austrian Power & Environment Technology were part of the three-member delegation. (NSS)
