Auto Drivers to Work for Total Prohibition

Telangana Auto Drivers Joint Action Committee today conducted signature campaign at Chotabazar Auto Stand, Golconda Fort.  Earlier, the Auto Drivers took a pledge that they will not touch liquor, gutkha and cigarettes and would struggle hard for enforcement of total prohibition in the State.   They raised slogans of “Sabse Kharab, Sharabi! Sharab!”  on the occasion.

Mohd Amanullah Khan, Convenor, speaking to the drivers clarified that auto drivers fight is not just against cheap liquor, but their fight will continue till total prohibition is enforced in Telangana and elsewhere in the country.  Further, he said that the auto drivers should take stock of their short comings and resolve to begin a new life of uprightness.  He said that ‘we sincerely feel auto drivers services are not up to the expectations’.    Later Khan proposed Mohd. Chand and Qamaruddin as president and Secretary respectively of Chotabazar Auto stand and the auto drivers elected them as the stand leaders.(NSS)
